The brief is to design and document a modern Chinese restaurant. Unlike many traditional Chinese venues, Foodao was founded by a group of young, passionate operators who deliberately chose an opposing approach—avoiding conventional cultural motifs and historic references within the fit-out.
Instead, the design is driven by Foodao’s brand vision: futuristic, cool, and modern. The spatial language prioritises clean geometry, crisp detailing, and a contemporary material palette, creating a forward-looking dining environment that positions the brand as new-generation Chinese hospitality.
