Tasty House

A well-established Guangdong restaurant in Forest Hill, trading locally for many years, engaged us to undertake a full upgrade of the venue and reposition it with a refreshed contemporary Chinese identity. The project required careful intervention to retain the familiarity of the existing restaurant while introducing a new design language—successfully merging old and new into a cohesive, upgraded dining environment.

A key operational objective was to accommodate both fast-casual and fine-dining experiences under one roof: efficient lunch service during the day, and a more elevated dining mode in the evening. The planning and zoning were developed to support this shift in atmosphere and service style across trading periods.

Warm, layered lighting plays a central role in the design, enhancing the timber finishes and creating a comfortable, welcoming ambience. The outcome is a home-like setting suited to families and friends, with a renewed identity and improved functionality that supports the restaurant’s next stage of growth.
