The third store delivered within two years, s2dio-X was appointed as Architect for one of Melbourne’s most recognised Sichuan malatang brands. Building on the established design language from the earlier sites, the new interior is intentionally more refined and mature—shaping a contemporary Chinese atmosphere through restrained form-making and layered materiality.

The spatial expression is anchored by finely scaled stone cladding, complemented by feature timber screening and curated “China Red” accents to strengthen brand identity. A bespoke dragon lantern installation is suspended at ceiling level as a focal element—designed to catch the eye, slow pedestrian movement along the mall frontage, and draw customers into the venue to engage with the dining experience.
